All pets must be licensed in The City of Truesdale. You may print an application for a license from this website. Please see City Licenses.
It is unlawful for any person or persons owning, controlling, harboring, possessing or having the management or care, in whole or part, of any dog, cat, or other animal to permit such dog, cat or other animal to run at large.
No individual, family, partnership, corporation, association, society or overall legal entity of any kind, which owns, manages, controls, possesses dogs and/or cats shall have more than three (3) dogs and/or three (3) cats within the city limits of The City of Truesdale.
Any individual, family, partnership, corporation, association, society or overall legal entity of any kind which has a dog(s) and/or a cat(s) within the city limits of The City of Truesdale shall see to it that said dog(s) and/or cat(s) do not bark, yelp, or howl.
The City contracts with S & R Animal Control for the control of stray animals. Their Phone number is 573-669-5101.
If an animal is picked up within the city limits of Truesdale, a notice will be given to City Hall by S & R Animal Control. If your pet is lost or missing, you should call Truesdale City Hall, at 636-456-3166, as soon as possible to see if your animal has been picked up by animal control. Additionally, your call will alert us to the fact that your animal is missing so we can contact you if we receive notice that your animal has been picked up. If your animal has been picked up, you will need a release form from the City of Truesdale to reclaim your animal.
The City of Truesdale hosts a rabies clinic each year in April or May. The Warrenton Veterinary Clinic will have rabies shots (one year or three year), dog distemper / parvo, cat and distemper available at a reduced rate. The City will be available to issue city tags at the clinic as well. Please check the website for the date.
